Our juvenile soccer team played really well last Tuesday against Laurier Macdonald at Rutherford Field. Laurier came to the game fully expecting to win and unfortunately they scored early, however that didn’t stop our great players.
In the first half, Conrad Porteous got badly hurt and had to sit out the rest of the game. Despite that, our team played their hardest the whole game, through a lot of close calls for both teams and a lot of back and forth. Laurier wasn’t prepared for the obstacles we were putting in front of them, because even though we now had a short bench we didn’t quit.
After a lot of good passes and lighting fast plays, we finally scored early in the second half to tie it up. We kept fighting and pushing and we had many other chances to score. We gave Laurier a challenge they were not expecting from us and they were lucky to come away with a tie at 1.
Overall, we played really well and, more importantly, we never gave up.
