Gryphons stuck with the game plan for the win
Our third game of the season was a rematch against FACE, the team that we narrowly beat last week. They had some new players in the lineup and they looked like a much improved team right from the start. We stuck to our game plan early on, though, which was to keep control of the ball rather than try to force plays forward. We had a few opportunities to test the new FACE goalie, but we ended the first half tied 0-0.

In the second half, we kept pressuring the FACE defense, and eventually scored to take a 1-0 lead. We held strong defensively at the end of the game and never gave the FACE team a real chance to tie the game. In the final few minutes, we took advantage of some offensive opportunities to get some shots on goal including our second goal of the game, which ended as a 2-0 victory.
