GAME REPORT: SELWYN1 VS. BHS- Black Scores Four from different feet; moves into tie for 2nd.

Coach Held
Forbes Field- Selwyn1, 4- BHS,1. The rain began to fall over the boys in Black just as the opening whistle sounded for the Bantam Boys third game of the season. After sorting our scheduling conflicts Selwyn Team Black were able to face a travelling Beaconsfield High School. The rain did not damper the spirits of the boys as Latkovski opened the scoring in the first 5 minutes. A strong walled defense kept BHS with limited touches around Selwyn’s net. A few minutes later new Selwyn grade 7 Adriano Cecere (pronounced Che-Che-Re) fired a rocket shot past the BHS keeper. After some big saves, and questionable ref (filled in by Selwyn coach) calls against Selwyn, The boys in Black responded to a BHS goal with two goals scored by Selwyn’s “Mega-Men”, David Layman and Matt Avedesian, for their first goals. After the game consistent defender Jonah Rosen responded to comments about team chemistry. “We’re a tight knit unit on Team Black, we support each other and are encouraged by the play of several character players.” With positive input Selwyn Star Striker, Jamie Michelin was heard encouraging his teammates by yelling “Kick the Ball, people!!” Team Black currently sits tied for 2nd in GMAA Bantam Boys Div.2. With 3 games left, including one against hallway rivals Selwyn2, team Gold.
