Class of '23 Grad Weekend

This year's Grade 11 graduates celebrated their Graduation Weekend with several events from May 18-20. The weekend kicked off on Thursday morning with the Heroes Breakfast, an opportunity for students to invite one person who has been a support for them or a hero for them during their academic careers. On Friday, the tradition of Downey vs Downey Dodgeball continued, and the students brought their A games as they battled it out in the Macaulay Gym; Mr. Tom Downey's team was ultimately victorious despite several comeback efforts from Mr. Mike Downey's team. They cooled down and fuelled up at an afternoon barbecue hosted by one of the graduating student's families nearby. Finally, the main event—the Dinner/Dance—took place at the Windsor where the students, their guests, parents, and teachers commemorated their time at Selwyn House through speeches, dancing, and a live lip sync of "I'm Still Selwyn," a remix created by two of the graduating students. Overall, the weekend was a fabulous opportunity for students, Selwyn House staff, and families to come together and celebrate the students' time here before they head off to their next adventures after graduation. –Ms. Torry, Student Life and Leadership Coordinator
