At Selwyn House School, we strives to prepare our students to be well-balanced, productive and passionate individuals through their academics, athletics & extracurriculars. With a culture of excellence, Selwyn House School continues to maintain a strong commitment to physical education and athletics as part of each student’s development. Each student is a multi-sport athlete that contributes to many programs at Selwyn House School.
Within the athletic department, our hockey program continues to grow under the administration of athletic director Michael Maurovich. The daily operations of the hockey program are overseen by Chris LaPerle, the director of hockey operations and player development. LaPerle is supported by the assistant director of player development, Angelo Esposito and other coaches.
Our hockey program is a member of the Quebec Interscholastic Hockey League (LHIQ), that compete at the pee wee, bantam and Juvenile D3 and Juvenile D1 levels. Our elementary teams plays in a competitive local league with playoffs. All our teams play in other tournaments and exhibition games in Canada and the United States. Our Juvenile team has cultural trips all over the world may it be in North America or Europe.
Selwyn House School hockey program, offers the most development possible to our student-athletes. We will have access to more development time during the school year starting in late August through May. Our student-athletes will have close to a 3:1 ratio of practices to games throughout the hockey season. Under one umbrella, our hockey program will provide a maximum number of player development hours with the best coaches and instructors.
Whether you are a varsity level student-athlete looking to compete at the highest levels or are interested in playing for the very first time our hockey program is designed for you.
