Three Old Boys Conquer Ironman Lake Placid

On July 20, Old Boys Lorenzo Accurso ’19, Dylan Beauchamp ’19, and Matteo Iasenza ’19 successfully completed one of the toughest events on the Ironman circuit: Ironman Lake Placid. That day, they swam 3.8 km, biked 180 km, and capped it all off with a full 42.2 km marathon, climbing over 2,400 m of elevation along the way.

Having had a few days to reflect on the experience, Matteo shared, “Surround yourself with good people and you can do ridiculously hard things,” while Dylan reflected, “After everything we’ve been through together, I’m happy. But I’m also a little sad. I’ll miss training with my buddies and that this journey has come to an end. That said, who knows what’s next?”

Congratulations to these three remarkable Old Boys on an achievement that truly inspires.
