Theriault receives award from Canada's History

Selwyn House Senior French and histoire teacher Marie-Eve Theriault recently won a 2016 Government of Canada History Award for Teachers for a project she developed on the history of Canada’s Native population.

Her project explores the question of whether the Government of Canada was justified in deploying military troops to break up the standoff during the Oka Crisis of 1990.

Thirty teacher projects were selected from across Canada to receive this prize, only two of which are in French. For her award, Mme. Theriault received a certificate and a $2000 cash award.
