Selwyn House wrestler Ali Shahabi won a gold medal this past weekend at the Provincial Wrestling Championships in St-Césaire, QC. His winning performance qualified Ali for the Canadian Wrestling Championships, which will be held in April in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

All the Wrestling Gryphons wrapped up another very successful season in St-Césaire with several medals and fine performances.
Fernand Le Fèvre also won a silver medal in St-Césaire while Jean-Nicola Dackiw and Lucas Trifiro-Jarzem placed fourth in their respective weight categories. Cairn Tse-Lalonde finished in fifth and Tim Hadjis placed sixth. It was a strong competition, with a number of national and international medalists.
At the GMAA Championships on February 12, a young Gryphon team placed sixth, including silver medals for Jean-Francois Roberts (his second career silver), Charles Jo (gold medalist in 2007) and Lucas Trifiro-Jarzem, winning his first-ever medal.
