Peter George Vodstrcil '56 passed away on January 18, 2021 in his 80th year, peacefully at home in Montreal, the last of a family who fled Eastern Europe to make a new home in Canada in the darkest days of WWII. He was predeceased by his father, Tomo, in 1984; his brother, Andrew, in 2003; and his mother, Herta, in 2014. Peter enjoyed a happy childhood in The Linton Apartments and lived independently for most of his adult life, although he suffered from bouts of mental illness. He will be remembered by a small coterie of caregivers and friends who admired his spirit and tenacity. In view of the pandemic, a private graveside service will be held in the spring. Donations in Peter's memory may be made to The Douglas Hospital Foundation. Montreal Gazette
