OBITUARY: John Trott '52

We are saddened to inform you of the passing of John Sutherland Trott Sr., Class of ‘52 who passed away on January 16 at the age of 84 in Sutton Junction, Quebec.
John is the father of two Old Boys, John Jr., Class of 1980 and Derek, Class of 1981 and attended Selwyn House School himself from 1943 to 1947. During those years, he was a Gold Six Cub Scout, a member of the Choir, an accomplished skier, a defenseman on the Cub Scouts hockey team and, in his final year, became a Senior Sixer. According to the 1946 yearbook, on February 17, John and 17 other SHS boys attended the Ste. Adele Ski Club's Midget Meet during unprecedently harsh weather. At the meet, John placed third in his age category in the combined cross-country & slalom, receiving one of the only medals for the SHS boys that day. As a student, John was described as being "steady and dependable" with a smile that could turn even the harshest of frowns.
John leaves behind his wife, Joanne Mercier, his children, John Jr '80 (Dominique), Derek '81 (Sonia) and Heather (Mark), his stepchildren, Jessica and Curtis, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Please see John's obituary below.
