Technology

The teachers and administration at Selwyn House School believe that wise use of technology can enhance the learning experience, encourage innovative projects, and facilitate communication among students, teachers, and parents.

The Selwyn House School Access Program provides every student in Grade 5-6 with his own iPads. We also have three iPads carts for K to Grade 4. In Grades 7-8, each student has his own school provided laptop for use in school and at home. These laptops have wireless network capability, providing access to the school’s network and the Internet from every classroom. A class set of iPads is also available for Middle School to use for specific projects. Grades 10 and 11 have a “bring your own device” program allowing them to use any laptop that meets school specifications.
A fully equipped media studio is also available for both video and photography, as well as audio and music production.

There are two laptop carts and three iPad carts available for Elementary School classes to sign out, and one fully equipped desktop lab for use by the Elementary classes and the Grade 10-11 Multimedia class. Digital cameras, scanners and colour printers are widely available within the school for student projects.

Selwyn House has two 3D printers that are available for projects in science, art and computer studies.

Technology is supported through a dedicated department, where students and teachers can go for software and hardware support.
