  • Football Vasity 2026 Camp Information

    June 2026
Dear Gryphon Football Players and Parents,
As another school year comes to an end, the coaching staff and I would like to wish everyone a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved summer. We hope you take some time to recharge, but we're also excited for what lies ahead as we prepare for another memorable season of Gryphon Football.
On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, we officially begin the next chapter of Selwyn House School Football. Entering our second season competing for the CISAA Championship, we'll once again face top competition from across Quebec and Ontario. We're looking forward to the challenge.
The work we put in before the season begins will set the tone for the months ahead. Training camp is just around the corner, and we expect every player to arrive ready to compete.

    Training Camp Schedule

    Wednesday, August 12, 2026

Players are to report to the Macaulay Building at 10:00 a.m. for equipment distribution, team meetings, and our first on-field practice, including tackling instruction. The day will conclude at approximately 4:00 p.m. Please bring your own lunch.

    Thursday, August 13, 2026

Players should arrive by 8:30 a.m. for meetings and two on-field practices at Selwyn House School. The day will finish at approximately 4:00 p.m. Please bring your own lunch.

    Friday, August 14 – Monday, August 17, 2026

The team will travel to Bishop's University for our annual training camp. We will depart from Selwyn House at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, August 14, and return on the afternoon of Monday, August 17. Additional information regarding accommodations, packing lists, and travel will be shared later this summer.
Please complete the Google Form to confirm your participation in training camp.

    2026 Season

Our schedule includes preseason, non-conference, regular season, and playoff games. We open the season with a preseason matchup on Friday, August 28, followed by a non-conference game on Thursday, September 10. Our goal is to earn another opportunity to compete in the CISAA Championship Game on Wednesday, November 11, 2026.

    Summer Preparation

Players should arrive at training camp ready for our fitness testing, which includes the 300-yard shuttle test:
    • 6 × 50-yard shuttles
    • 1-minute rest
    • Repeat 3 times
    • Target: Under 60 seconds for each 300-yard shuttle
The weight room will remain open throughout the summer, and I strongly encourage every player to make use of it. The athletes who consistently improve over the offseason are the ones who commit to training when no one is watching. Building strength, speed, and endurance now will not only improve performance but also reduce the risk of injury during the season.
Playbooks will be distributed later this summer, giving everyone an opportunity to become familiar with our systems before camp begins.
Enjoy your summer, stay active, and come back ready to work. We have high expectations for this group, and we're looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish together.
    Go Gryphons!
