  • Selwyn heads to Playoffs with confidence

    In the concluding game of the regular season, Selwyn won it's 5th regular season game in a row on a sunny Wednesday afternoon. Controlling the play the young Gryphons beat Lasalle 7-0.

    The Gryphons look towards next week when they will play Royal West in the Semi Finals.
  • Selwyn wins 3rd in a row

    Selwyn returned to the soccer pitch Wednesday to complete their home & home versus Loyola in league play. Selwyn jumped right back into the game controlling the ball and controlling the middle of the field. More strong defensive play and some excellent teamwork crossing the ball and Selwyn saw their lead grow and didn't look back. Asserting himself as a new up and coming coach, was Selwyn old boy Tomas Dubroca, who made some masterful strategic lineup decisions which encouraged the young Gryphons.
    Selwyn has a 1 week break before retuning to the field to finish their regular season versus LCCHS where they will try to solidify top spot in their division.
  • Selwyn sits in 1st place

    The Selwyn House Bantam Division 4.1` Gryphons moved into 1st place in their division after a convincing win over cross town rival, Loyola. The Gryphons did a great job controlling the ball, the middle of the field and limiting Loyola chances to the outside of the field. Another strong showing by the defense and stops from Matthew G. and Jaedyn S. kept the score against to zero.
    The Gryphons scored some very nice team goals with multiple players collaborating and moving the ball before it reached the back of the net. Selwyn plays Loyola again for a chance to move up in their division on Wednesday.

  • Selwyn secures first win of season with goals early and often

    After a wet and cold season opening loss to Laval Jr. The Gryphons looked to rebounded early in the season with a strong showing versus Lauren Hill.  The Gryphons spent much of the game controlling the ball and starting gelling and moving the ball well. The Selwyn back line of Will, Jacques, Henry, Spencer, and Cruise played strong and didn't allow Lauren Hill players many chances. Strong, but infrequent efforts from Matthew.G kept the score low.
    Selwyn's front 6 hit most of their targets and displayed creative passing and effort in the middle. Goals were scored by numerous Gryphons who were heard " it's a team game, we don't keep track of who scores, only the final score." 
    The Division 4.1 team looks to continue the momentum next week versus cross town rivals Loyola in a home-and-home contest Monday and Wednesday.
