Old Boys Raise More Than $100K for Mental Health with Miles for Minds

On October 25, Selwyn alumni Lorenzo Accurso ’19, Matteo Iasenza ’19 and Dylan Beauchamp ’19, completed an extraordinary 125 km run around the Island of Montreal to raise awareness and funds for mental health. The event, called Miles for Minds, began at midnight and unfolded over 18 hours of continuous running, supported by volunteers, friends, and community members along the route.

What started as a small idea grew into a citywide movement, with cheering stations, local business pop-ups, and hundreds following the live updates. The energy grew throughout the day as spectators lined roads, bike paths, and parks, cheering the runners on as they made their way around the island.  As the sun set, the team crossed the finish line surrounded by family, friends, classmates, and community members - an unforgettable moment of pride and emotion.

By the end of the day, the team proudly announced that they had raised over $100,000 for the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation, directly supporting mental health care and equipment at the hospital. Learn more at: https://stmaryshospitalfoundation.ca/montreal-miles-for-minds/
