Ihaza Brothers Shine at Karate Nationals, Secure Pan Am Spots

Congratulations to Simon Ihaza, a Grade 9 student who won a Silver medal at the 2025 Karate Canada National Championships held from April 3 to April 6 in Richmond, B.C. Representing Quebec, Simon’s strong performance earned him a spot on Team Canada for the Junior Pan American Karate Games this August in Asunción, Paraguay. His parents note that his success reflects his discipline, focus, in addition to the support he's received at Selwyn House.

Simon's older brother and recent graduate, David Ihaza, Pre-U '24, currently studying at the University of Calgary, also excelled at the nationals, winning two Gold medals for Alberta. He’ll represent Canada at the Senior and U21 Pan Am Games in Monterrey, Mexico, this May.
