Team Selwyn Tackles Regional Math Competition

On April 9, Selwyn competed in the Regional Canadian Team Math Competition hosted by St. George's School of Montreal. The competition, after which our interhouse math competition is modelled, consists of a Team Event, an individual event, and a relay event. While Selwyn competed well and showed great teamwork and skill, the team did not take home the win this time. Still, it was a fun and enriching experience for all involved. In addition to the excitement of healthy competition and challenging mathematics, students got to hear a keynote address from a Senior Principal Engineer from WSP, an engineering and professional services firm, about the advantages of pursuing studies in the field of applied mathematics.

A big thank you to Mr. Elbling, Math Team Coach for preparing this phenomenal group of students for their impressive performance and to Ms. Ouimet for accompanying them on the day of the competition. -Ms. Sayegh, Senior School Mathematics Department Head
