Coming off a win in Halifax, the Selwyn House debating team of Jarren Fefer and Nabeel Ahmed took second place at the University of Ottawa High School Debating Tournament on the March 31 weekend.
“The last two weeks have seen a lot of success for the Selwyn House debating team,” coach Jonathan Bracewell points out. The weekend before the Ottawa tournament, Gryphon debaters competed in the Donahoe Cup Tournament at Sacred Heart School in Halifax.
“Six Selwyn House teams competed over two days in Halifax, with Jarren and Nabeel fighting their way out of ninth place to win the tournament in a final against Lower Canada College,” Mr. Bracewell explains. “I congratulate them; this was a major victory.”
