Catching-Up and Collaboration at Vancouver Old Boys' Reunion

Old Boys' and friends had a pleasant evening at Steamworks Brewpub on February 9 in Gastown, reconnecting after a four-year hiatus. Stories were compared across the decades all realizing the constant foundation they received no matter the era. Graham Colby '96 noted that "Selwyn House gave us exposure to so many subjects and opportunities." The Class of '96 had their own mini-reunion and former PVA Coordinator Maureen Mackell joined from Squamish.

Headmaster Michael Downey had lots of news to tell - from Selwyn House School becoming fully independent to the school's addition of next year's Pre-University program, Grade 12! Director of Advancement Sharon Cozens shared initiatives of the Old Boys' Association Board including the goal to build Selwyn Chapters in different cities all over the world and build mentorship for Old Boys.

Guests were interested to hear about Selwyn's future and offer help. DJ Miller '80 volunteered as the Vancouver Chapter Rep. and looks forward to connecting with Old Boys in the area throughout the year. DJ who is a lecturer at UBC's Sauder School of Business, also offered expertise and advice for our new Pre-U entrepreneurship program.
