Grade 11 Entrepreneurship Class Fights Against Food Insecurity

Last week, the Grade 11 Entrepreneurship class learned about the substantial amount of food that grocery stores waste each day—much of which is perfectly edible but not deemed suitable for sale. Feeding Montreal (FeeMo) is a non-profit organization run by McGill students that reached out to the class for volunteers to help address this issue. By transporting food from stores to food banks, a few boys from the class discovered firsthand how easy it can be to reduce waste and assist our hungry neighbours. Mr. Watson, the Social Studies teacher who teaches the Entrepreneurship class is enthusiastic about the initiative and its potential positive impact on both waste reduction and community support, emphasizing the importance of living by two of the "Veritas" truths–being True to the World and True to Others.
