Senior School Debaters Qualify for Nationals

Over the February 9-10 weekend, the Selwyn House School debate team participated in the Quebec Student Debating Association (QSDA) Provincial Debating Championships. It was a weekend of fierce debates. In the end, the Grade 10 team of Joseph and Jacob secured third place in the Senior competition, and Grade 9 students Max and William achieved third place in the Junior competition. William also earned the Top Speaker award, with Max securing second place.

As a result of these accomplishments, Selwyn House School now qualifies for the Senior National Tournament taking place in British Columbia in early April and the Junior National Tournament in Nova Scotia in late-May. Mr. Bracewell, Debate Coach, would like to personally thank Emir in Grade 9 for taking on the role of a Senior swing team and doing himself and his school proud by debating on his own for the entire tournament. Congratulations to all of our debaters!
